Shena Kozuba-Kozubska (BHSI) is one of the top Distributors for Total Saddle Solutions. She holds a rare combination of equestrian qualifications – not only is she a British Dressage ** International Trainer, but also a British Eventing Accredited Trainer, with nearly 40 years of competition and training experience. It is this depth of knowledge and experience that has proved so successful when horse-owners come to her for advice on The Solution range.

Shena works with riders of all levels and covers all disciplines from “Happy Hackers” right through to many juniors who have represented our country, both in Dressage and Three-Day Eventing. Her protégés brought back three European Medals in the late 1990's. She has had considerable success herself as an international horse trials competitor, completing Badminton at the tender age of 18, as well as more recently training her own and other horses to advanced level dressage.

Shena has also become a President´s Ambassador for the British Horse Society. One of the driving forces behind her commitment to this role was the discovery she made of The Solution range of saddles, which she believes to be the best thing to have happened in horse welfare in her 38 years in the profession. She tried one in desperation, after trying to find the right saddle to fit a very broad-backed mare, and having also wasted over £4,000 on “tailor-made” saddles that would not fit her young Dressage horse, Equi-Sense Destiny (Desi).

To her surprise, The Solution saddle was an immediate success, though for a month or two, she still thought of it as a “remedial” measure. However, over time, it became clear to her that the technology behind this saddle must show the way forward for all those who care about the welfare of the horse.

She says “I thought long and hard about whether to become a distributor for these saddles – I used to have a reputation for telling clients that their saddles were wrong, but could still never help them get it right. Now, of course, I had found out what would work, and they´d think I just wanted to sell them a saddle! However, the fact is that these saddles sell themselves – once a rider has felt the difference of the way the horse goes, very few of them feel that they can live without them!

Since that first purchase, Desi has been going from strength to strength, despite a debilitating illness over the summer, and the partnership qualified for the Winter Semis at Elementary level. They are pictured here in 2004 summer, with The Solution Energist saddle – having qualified for the SW Regional Championships at both Novice and Elementary levels, and placed 7th in the Shearwater National Young Horse Championships for 6yo. They also qualified for the 2005 Summer regionals.
